Final Project: Suitcase Doll House

The idea of a suitcase doll house came through a blogger who created shelving out of vintage luggage. The blogger replaced the cloth within the suitcase with vintage fabric used in the form of wall paper. It seemed that she had created an environment or a space beyond the function of a shelf.

With this I also find that I am looking at a lot of things leading to a change in ideas of what can be made and the impact of the personal in order to create something new. The idea of having my hand in creating something rich in nostalgic properties as well as something in which I can begin to illustrate my ideas of visual elements within a created space. As well as being able to use manufactured and mass produced products to create a personal object of a different use.

As of now my piece is still a series of parts being collected. I have fabric fro the interior. also I have ordered the suitcase that I will be using as the basis of the house.
